The 2013 Race to Wainui moved onto Wainuiomata for its 3rd event of the season with a co-sanctioned event that doubled as the Hutt/Kapiti/WGTN sub association event. This meant a few extra faces showed up which was great including 2 travellers from Palmerston which was great to see. It also meant there were more prizes than on a normal club day so should encourage people to show up in future years for sure.
The day turned into a Tua Cummings benefit day (very similar to last year if I remember rightly) as he shot 73 off the stick to claim the overall gross title as well as 41 stablefords which was good enough for 1st place in the Race to Wainui championship. In another case of deja vu, Flav defended his Nett title and finished 2nd on the day with 39 stablefords. Rounding out the top 5 was Fairley, Josh Mooney & finally in his 11th tour event, Mark Storer nailed his first top 5 finish (which should also ensure he relinquishes his Most Golf title from last year).
The mole is a bust bee at the mo so the report is a little short and lacking any humour but he will bounce back next Mo
