The WFBG professional tour moved onto Judgeford for the penultimate round in the race to Wainui championship. Unfortunately for the 2 avid readers of these reports the mole has been shipped from the Bronx to the big smoke and his time allowance on all things golf have taken a serious hit, hence the slow update of the website and this resulting abbreviated report...
Some muppet had the brainwave to play the top 3 contenders in the same group (Jillings, Atkinson & Flavin) hoping they'd all crumble under the pressure of being front runners. Unfortunately no-one predicted they'd make a pact to add 10 points to each of their scores and sunsequently finish 1st equal (Jillings & Atkinson) and 2nd (Flav) on the day. This means despite there being double points on offer in the final round its basically a three horse race for the title between these 3 handicap burglers...
Despite this theres still plenty on offer in the final round - it's our 2nd Major championship of the season (the Open) and with it brings all the glory of a Major winner, double points, and a chance to climb the world rankings - which will be all important in next years matchplay challenge...
Its the final round next month, good prizes available to those who played well (or burgled the best) so please come prepared to hang around for the prize giving, barbeque, and have a few beers. The final event also doubles as Jeff Schermers Memorial so there will be a bigger field than usual so it'll be a great day... see you all there.
